One Hit Wonders

The A.V. Club has a great article about before-their-time TV shows that were cancelled after (or before) their first season. The list is composed of 15 shows with descriptions of their greatness. Some of these shows I don't remember, but sound amazing, like Cop Rock. It was a cop drama musical. That sounds like a hoot! Could you imagine a criminal breaking into to song for his confession and plea or two officers having a sing off while trying to break the confession of the criminal. What about a sing off instead of a shoot-out? Throw in weekly musical guests as guest actors and you've got a sensation.

I heart(ed) Police Squad!! Man, there are a lot of gems in that heap.

I remember The Dana Carvey Show...after the first week, all his major endorsements pulled because it was a bit too out there. I don't know, Pat Buchanon eating the beating heart of an illegal immigrant: is that too far for prime-time ABC?
